Marjorie Vineyard Pinot Noir Accolades

2013 Vintage

93 Points – 2013 Marjorie Vineyard Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills
"This complex wine shows a whiff of stem from 37% whole-cluster fermentation, and quickly moves into a soft center, loaded with strawberry preserves. It coasts the mouth, smooth and textural, with graphite highlights. The tannins are substantial and suggest it's worth tuckingo into the cellar for a few more years. Drink through 2020."

93 Points – 2013 Marjorie Vineyard Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills
"Brilliant ruby-red. Exotic, highly expressive aromas of raspberry liqueur, Asian spices, cola and smoky minerals, with a suave floral overtone building in the glass. Sweet and penetrating on the palate, offering intense red and dark berry and spicecake flavors given spine by juicy acidity. A distinctly elegant, seamless Pinot Noir with superb finishing energy; the gentle tannins are quickly absorbed by the wine’s vibrant fruit. A standout of its vintage. Drinking window: 2019-2024."
- Josh Raynolds, Vinous

92 Points – 2013 Marjorie Vineyard Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills
"Soft spicy accents- cardamom, anise, hints of five-spice- give this pinot noir some complexity and savor. The flavors, lent textural heft from whole-cluster fermentation, are at once burly and tense, with a firm acid structure framing the wine's plushness. It feels like sinking into a suede armchair, with much of the pleasure coming from how the plushness is structured, suede in a sturdy frame. Cellar. "

2012 Vintage

95 Points - 2012 Marjorie Vineyard Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills
"The 2012 Pinot Noir Marjorie Vineyard is the only vineyard on its own roots planted in 1982 at a low density (1500 vines per hectare). There is phylloxera in the vineyard, so it is gradually being replaced. This vintage is the first that is not entirely from the old vines and contains a single barrel of new vines. The bouquet is quite natural and refined without shortchanging you on fruit: mulberry and red plum, a little orange blossom and a hint of vanilla pod. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, grippy tannin that exhibits lovely red berries infused with balsamic and saline notes. This feels very cohesive in the mouth and I wager that those younger vines have invigorated the older vines to create a complete Pinot Noir that I would rush out and buy if I was not typing this tasting note."
- Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

93 Points - 2012 Marjorie Vineyard Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills
"Supple, ripe and expressive, this is plush-textured and appealing, with dark plum, cherry and tar flavors, lingering on the long finish. This deft version shows depth and ripe character. Drink now through 2020."

2010 Vintage

93 Points – 2010 Marjorie Vineyard Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills
"Vibrant ruby-red. Fresh, intensely fragrant scents of redcurrant, strawberry and potpourri, with a subtle undercurrent of vanillin oak spices. Brisk and incisive red berry and spicecake flavors pack solid punch and gain flesh and sweetness with air. A decidedly elegant, graceful pinot, with impressive finishing clarity and thrust."
- Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar

2009 Vintage

90 Points — 2009 Marjorie Vineyard Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills
"The most forward of Cristom’s 2009 single-vineyard Pinots, this shows flavors of strawberry preserves and candied orange suggestive of marmalade. It has a streak of root beer and pleasing spice, with a quick finish."
- The Wine Enthusiast
