Mt. Jefferson Cuvée Pinot Noir Accolades

2013 Vintage

91 Points – 2013 Mt. Jefferson Cuvée Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley
"Pretty is the word that comes to mind upon sniffing and sipping this wine, with its beguiling strawberry and cherry fruit. It gathers strength in its core, while maintaining an elegant, well-structured acid/tannin frame. It's an outstanding value in Oregon Pinot Noir from a top producer."
- Paul Gregutt, Wine Enthusiast, published 4/1/2016

2012 Vintage

91 Points – 2012 Mt. Jefferson Cuvée Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley
"Brilliant red. A lively, sharply focused nose displays zesty red berry and floral scents, along with hints of succulent herbs and rose. Taut, mineral-tinged redcurrant and strawberry flavors open up and deepen slowly with air, showing very good clarity. Showing appealing finesse and vivacity, with no excess fat or rough edges, finishing with resonating florality and sneaky, harmonious tannins. Drinking window: 2016-2022."
- Josh Raynolds, Vinous

90 Points - 2012 Mt. Jefferson Cuvée Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley
"The 2012 Mt Jefferson Cuvée Pinot Noir comes from vines located above the winery augmented by purchased fruit from notable vineyards. It contains around 40% whole-cluster fruit (one of the central tenets at Cristom), and only undergoes one racking during its 12 months in barrel: one just before filtration and then just before bottling. It has an attractive tertiary/woodland-scented bouquet with dried rose petal notes coming through, much less fruit driven than many other 2012 Pinot Noirs. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry. It is quite sappy in style with crisp black fruit rather than red, leading to a focused, slightly austere, tobacco-tinged and saline finish. I would afford this a year in bottle for this “classic” style of Oregon Pinot."
- Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

89 Points - 2012 Mt. Jefferson Cuvée Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley
"Generous at the outset, with a succulent core of plum and cherry flavors, Cristom’s entry-level pinot is a bit zaftig, the oak providing a firm sheen against which that fruit can resonate. Serve with smoked salmon rillettes."
- Wine and Spirits Magazine

88 Points - 2012 Mt. Jefferson Cuvée Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills
"Firm in texture, with fine tannins around a lean core of dark berry and roasted tomato flavors, persisting on the grainy finish. Best from 2017 through 2020."
- Wine Spectator Insider
