2010 Vintage Report
2010 will be remembered as a year that flavor development preceded sugar ripeness that produced wines with a purity of fruit, low alcohols, and great acid for ageing and food pairing. An extremely low yielding vintage that began with a long, cool Spring and a Summer that never arrived, ended with dry conditions in October allowing extended hang time to achieve physiological maturity and complexity. The Pinot Noirs have great color and flavor without high alcohol and a fantastic white vintage that produced wines with finesse and higher than normal acids bode well for great balance and subsequently great ageing. This is a delicate, lively fruit-driven vintage with more concentration and depth than most. After a very cool growing season we had a near perfect four weeks of weather leading up to harvest leading us to believe this is now a special vintage that will continue to improve with time.
