2017 Old Vine Series: Canary Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir
Our inaugural Old Vine Series features 3 vineyards whose reputation and fruit quality proceeds them. As a grape vine ages, the fruit becomes concentrated and complex; vine output slows, but quality increases. We feel this series speaks to the power of age. Canary Hill has a long-time relationship with Cristom, whose fruit was first purchased in 1991. Ken Wright owns and oversees this vineyard located only 5 miles from the Cristom estate in the Eola-Amity Hills. With soils rich in ancient Basalt, we found these barrels to be worthy of our highest esteem, thus receiving their very own bottling. Planted in 1983, Canary Hill offers a clear impression of what time and dedication can produce. We are delighted to share this reflection of the land with you.
